Clotilda (Hilda) M. Wright, 93, of Long Beach Island, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly.
Born in Trenton, graduating from Trenton High School in 1944, she was a longtime Hamilton Township resident before moving to Long Beach Island in 1993.
Hilda worked at Bell Telephone where she met her husband on a picket line. She was married to her loving husband for 57 years. They enjoyed going to Atlantic City for dinner, playing the slots and metal detecting on the beach. Many times, they were called upon to find a lost ring or chain. During Saturday morning summers, many of Hilda’s friends would meet at their house to go visit different yard sales. Hilda also enjoyed cooking and especially baking, as her father had owned Huber’s Bakery in Trenton.
Daughter of the late Alfons and Marie Bischof Huber, wife of the late Albert E. Wright, sister of the late Albert, Alfons (Sonny), and Harold Huber, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Bruce Scully, two step grandchildren, Lisa Scully Lee and Cassandra Scully; two step great grandchildren, Addison Scully and Madelyn Scully, three nieces, Pamela Conk, Roseann Alexander, and Monika Schluter; several great nieces and nephews; two special friends, William and Eileen Rock that thought of her as their second mom.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for immediate family only at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street in Hamilton.
