Maria J. Suarez, 73, of Hamilton, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020, under the care of Serenity Hospice at RWJ University at Hamilton with her loving daughters by her side.
Born in Trenton, Ms. Suarez was a lifelong resident of Hamilton. She had retired after 25 years of service with the New Jersey Department of Corrections. She was a member of Holy Angels Parish, and also a life member of the Friends of Hamilton Township Library.
Daughter of the late Deacon Joseph and Santina Suarez; mother of the late Jessica Urban, and sister of the late Lucille Suarez.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra and George Leszczuk of Hamilton, Melissa Korpusinski of Hamilton, one sister Jodi Tedder, brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Nancy Suarez; seven grandchildren, Gregory, Paul, Lauren, Brianna, Angelica, C. J., and Alexis; five great grandchildren Aiden, Madelynne, Owen, Athena and Giovanni; a niece, nephews, many aunts, uncles, and cousins related to the Giquinto and Ferdetta families, and her loving pets, Teri, Georgia and Cali.
Her final wishes were for a private cremation under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street in Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 220 E 42ndStreet, New York, NY 10017 or Popcorn Park Zoo, 1 Humane Way, Forked River, NJ 08731.
Maria desired acts of love, laughter and kindness to one another in her memory. Maria was Covid Negative.
