Marilyn Hammer

February 27, 1946 - December 24, 2020

Marilyn Hammer, 74, of Medford, passed away at home on Thursday, December 24, 2020.


Born in McHenry, Illinois, to Marshall and Anne Gatti Bacon, Marilyn was raised in the Trenton/Yardville area. She graduated from Notre Dame High School and completed her Special Education degree at Glassboro College. She taught in several school districts including Hightstown, Roosevelt, and spent the last couple decades teaching at Camden County Vocational Technical School. While teaching at CCVTS, Marilyn was bowling coach, yearbook advisor, and was awarded Teacher of the Year in 1989. In the 1980’s, she took her family on the adventure as owner/operator of an Educational Computer store in the Hightstown area called “Software n’ Such.” In retirement, Marilyn was an avid artist hosting weekly art groups in her home for several years. Marilyn always loved helping those in need and was a very generous person at heart.

Wife of the late Paul Hammer and mother of the late Jonathan Hammer, she is survived by her children, Michelle Hammer, Eric Hammer, Samantha Kadrmas and spouse Aaron, and foster son Sandy Dunaway and spouse Brenda Ludwig; her brother John Bacon and his wife JoAnne; five grandchildren, Anthony DiLullo and his wife Alicia, Rosalie Tierno, Jonathan and Lizzie Kadrmas, and Cash Hammer; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 08620.
