Mary A. Pek

February 10, 1928 - August 30, 2020


Mary A. Pek, 92, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Center at Morris Hall in Lawrenceville.


Born in Trenton, NJ she was a lifelong area resident, most recently residing in Lawrenceville. Mary retired from the State of New Jersey after 25 years of service. Mary had a gift for sewing, whether it was making or fixing clothing for her family or making her own curtains. She enjoyed bus trips with her late husband Louis to Atlantic City. Mary enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Perry Como, singing along in her excellent singing voice. She loved the Great American Song Book. But most of all, Mary loved raising and caring for her family.


Predeceased by her parents, Michael and Louise (Quisito) Pica, her husband, Louis S. Pek, siblings, Nicky, Ralph, Joseph and Michael Pica, Irene Pica, Rose Silvestro and Bertha Gapszewicz, she is survived by her loving daughters, Roberta Pek, and Arleen Pek Wagner and her husband Mark; beloved sister-in-law Mary Chambers, as well as many nieces and nephews.


The family of Mary gives a special thank you to the very caring staff of St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing at Morris Hall for the tender care they showed her.


A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 11:00am St. Anthony Catholic Church, 626 South Olden Avenue, Trenton. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, from 8:30am until 10:30am.


Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Staff Appreciation Fund at Morris Hall, 1 Bishops Drive, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
